How to Follow Up After a Job Interview in Dubai: What Nobody in HR Will Tell You

How to Follow Up After a Job Interview in Dubai

The Follow-Up That Works

Thank-you email within 24 hours. Reference something specific from the interview. Two to three sentences. Professional, specific, brief.

When to Follow Up Again

If timeline given, respect it. If not, follow up after five business days. One email. After three attempts with no response, stop.

Why Dubai Hiring Takes Longer

More stakeholders. Hiring manager needs HR approval. HR needs finance. Finance needs leadership. Visa processing adds another layer. Two weeks in London equals six to eight weeks in Dubai. Patience is the most underrated job search skill in the Gulf.

LinkedIn Follow-Up

Connect with interviewer with brief personalised note. Do not connect with everyone in the company.

What Silence Means

Often means process is slower than expected. Budget delays, other candidates pending, manager travelling.
Sometimes means no. Gulf companies are notoriously poor at rejection feedback.
Follow up twice, then move on. Continue applying elsewhere.
