Structure
Professional summary: three lines. Degree, career interest, strongest relevant skill.
Education first: degree, university, year, relevant coursework, GPA if above 3.0.
Skills: specific, not generic. Not good communicator. Instead: presentation skills from four academic conference presentations.
Projects: describe two to three academic projects as professional work.
Internships and volunteer work. Certifications. Languages.
UAE Market Details
Include professional photo, nationality, date of birth, visa status, driving licence. Use Dubai mobile number if based in UAE.
Tailoring
Read job description. Identify three to five key requirements. Map CV content to those requirements. One CV does not fit all. Modify for each application.
Format
One page. Non-negotiable. Clean design. Standard font. No graphics. ATS-friendly. Save as PDF: FirstName_LastName_CV.pdf.
Covering Note
Three sentences: who you are, what you bring, why this role. No longer. Every word counts.
I write about the decisions that actually shape careers, not the ones that look good on paper.
