Phone Interview Tips for UAE Jobs: What Nobody in HR Will Tell You
Phone Interview Tips for UAE Jobs
What Recruiters Judge in Five Minutes
Phone screen is a filter. Three things assessed: communication clarity, salary alignment, visa/availability status.
Preparation
Know five things: company’s UAE business, role requirements, your salary range, notice period, visa status. Write them on a note in front of you.
The Salary Question
Give a range. Based on role scope and my experience, I am looking at $8,000 to $10,000 monthly, open to discussing full package.
Do not deflect. Do not undersell. Research market rates on Bayt, GulfTalent, LinkedIn Salary Insights.

Communication Style
Speak clearly, moderate pace. Answer directly. Biggest mistake: rambling. Pause after answering. Let recruiter lead.
Questions to Ask
Two maximum. What does the process look like from here? What is the timeline? Save detailed questions for face-to-face.
After the Call
Brief thank-you email within two hours. Two sentences. Then wait five business days before following up.
