WPS UAE Explained: What Nobody in HR Will Tell You
WPS UAE Explained: What Nobody in HR Will Tell You
The Wage Protection System is the UAE’s electronic salary monitoring mechanism. It tracks every salary payment made by every employer to every employee in the country.
How WPS Works
Every UAE employer must pay salaries through WPS. The system records the amount, date, and recipient of each payment. MOHRE monitors this data in real time.
Salaries must be paid within the first 15 days of the month following the pay period. After 15 days, the company faces administrative action. After 30 days, it can be blocked from processing new work permits.

What WPS Records
The exact amount transferred to your account. This is compared against the salary stated in your MOHRE-registered employment contract. If the amount transferred is less, the system flags the discrepancy.
Your WPS record is what GDRFA checks when you apply for a Golden Visa.
What WPS Does Not Protect You From
WPS does not track allowances paid separately, bonus payments, commission structures, or reimbursements. It also does not track whether deductions from your salary are lawful.
If Your Salary Is Late
Check your WPS record through the MOHRE app. If the payment is not recorded after 15 days, file a complaint through the MOHRE website. The complaint is free. It triggers an investigation.
Do not accept verbal promises. Once the 15-day window passes, your legal protections activate. Use them.
WPS is not a bureaucratic formality. It is a surveillance system designed to protect your earnings.
