Preparation

Research attending employers. Identify five to ten targets. Prepare ten-second introduction. Bring 20 printed CVs on good paper. Dress professionally.

At the Fair

Visit targets first, before crowds. Ask specific questions about company expansion plans. Collect business cards and LinkedIn details. Take notes after each conversation.

Follow-Up

LinkedIn connect within 48 hours. Reference fair and conversation. Send CV by email for specific roles discussed. 90% of interactions die at follow-up. Do it and you are ahead.

When Fairs Do Not Work

Senior professionals (10+ years): fairs recruit junior and mid-level. Without preparation: walking booth to booth handing out CVs produces nothing. Treat as planned networking, not job application conveyor belt.
